Shanita discovered her knack for decorating parties once she started working with children at her church. The classroom and hallways were a blank canvas to bring subject matters to life. Soon she became the go to person to decorate for special celebrations, plan and manage city wide children events, and intimate children's parties. 

Shanita believes that parties are not just food and games, but an opportunity to teach children social skills such as practicing good manners, asking for help, taking risks, and even accepting differences. 

The Brown Butterfly NJ is an extension of Shanita's desire to bring the best out of children, their parents, and guests during social events. All of her work is a testament of creativity and simplicity so children have room to use their imagination and the parents can look on with satisfaction.
